I have created that points to the disk, but i can't choose "Advanced Options" when i do a right click on the share where i could set it as a time machine source. I can backup when i connect the disk directly to the laptop. Any help welcome. Time Machine will make hourly backups but you can force it to make a backup at any time, perhaps because you are about to shut down your Mac and you want to make sure that the Time Machine back up
The new router has a couple of USB ports on it and being able to backup over WiFi was a huge plus in getting a better than entry level router. Problem is after following the directions in the Netgear router manual and trying a couple of hacks I've seen online, I can't get the drive to show up as an option in Time Machine.
